All sorts of crazy things can happen on a Tuesday. Today, the book is finishing the chapter on how to add value to others lives and how much it will change ours. He uses the word “sweet spot” in the chapter. I have found in my life that I have reinvented myself on multiple occasions. As I push myself to be better every day, I feel as though I get closer and closer to my sweet spot. What is the sweet spot? In my opinion, it is when you are in the midst of blessings others lives, all while bringing great joy and happiness to yours. The book talks about how to find your sweet spot:
What talents have been given to you? What skills do you have? What influences do you possess? Here is the beauty of adding value. “Anything and everything you have can be used to help others if you make adding value to people your priority and become intentional about it.” So how can we do this?
1. Get into your story – Decide that you can make a difference and be the hero of your own life.
2. Become highly intentional – Be determined to make every day count by being proactive in make a difference
3. Start small but believe big – The time is now.
4. Find your why – Listen to your heart, tap into your passion, and find your purpose.
5. Put others first – Realize that significance comes from helping others and making their lives better.
"One of the great ironies of life is that if you give up your life, you gain it. If you lose yourself, you find yourself."John C Maxwell
14 years ago, a young man by the name of Andrew Richardson approached me and invited me to come sell with him door to door for a summer. To this day, I am grateful that Andrew was willing to share with me the blessings of what he had learned and enjoyed from the summer before. Why? Because it has helped me find my sweet spot. Andrew, to this day continues to bless the lives of thousands of employees that work for him, and his life is extremely blessed as well. And so is mine. I have been asked on several occasions what my dream job would be. This might sound cliche or made up, but I am living my dream job right now. I get to help kids who are in a very pivotal point in their life, come do something that most people won’t do, and because of that, receive blessings that they wouldn’t any where else.
Again, what is your sweet spot? When the happiness you bring others brings happiness to you. So go find it.
Sweet spot for days, Cram
