I hope this email finds everyone doing great. Living the life they want to live, and becoming the person they want to become. We continue to talk about what brings people to mediocrity. If you ask the average person what their purpose in life is, they will give you a blank stare and won’t be able to tell you. The average person can’t articulate their life purpose. They, instead take their life one day at a time. “They take no higher risk beyond merely surviving.” Most people just focus on getting through the day, taking the path of least resistance, and pursuing short term pleasures. All while avoiding any pain or discomfort that might cause them to grow.

So what is one of the keys to overcoming mediocrity? Live a life of purpose. And it all stems from living every day in alignment with those purposes. Your purpose can be any purpose that you want. It can be anything that resonates with you and inspires you to wake up every day and live in alignment with your purpose. This may sound a bit overwhelming to some. I get it. But remember that you get to make it up and it can be as simple as you want it to be this first time around. Small things like: “I am going to smile more to bring more joy to people’s lives”, or “I am going to ask every person that I meet what I can do to help them.”

Keep in mind that you can change your life purpose at any time. “As you grow and evolve, so will your purpose.” What’s important is that you choose a purpose, any purpose, and start living it right now. I can not even begin to tell you how powerful this concept is. The stronger your purpose is, the easier it is to overcome life’s challenges. The stronger the purpose, the easier it is to work longer hours and to dedicate yourself more to what you are trying to accomplish. Don’t be the person that gets caught up being afraid to do something different. Don’t be the person who literally is just surviving. What an unhappy life that will bring you.

Happiness comes from stretching yourself. And stretching yourself will be something you love to do when you understand your purpose.
