TGIF baby! Today we continue to talk about the importance of finding good mentors. Without great people to look up to and learn from, our path to success will be much more difficult.

  1. A Good Mentor Provides Friendship and Support- It is obviously vital that your mentor cares for you and that he/she genuinely want you to have success. “Selfish mentors will only assist you only insofar as it advances their own agenda.” A great mentor will provide friendship and support, with no hidden agendas. They really do want to see you hit your potential.
  1. A Good Mentor Is a Coach Who Makes a Difference in People’s Lives- Kevin Hall, business consultant and author, once said

A coach remains something, or someone, who carries a valued person from where they are to where they want to be.

No matter what word you use to describe a coach, they make a difference in others lives. They help them grow. They improve their potential. They increase their productivity. They are essential to helping people effect positive change. “You will never maximize your potential in any area without coaching. It is impossible. You may be good. You may be better then everyone else. But without outside input you will never be as good as you could be.”

As I scan through the course of my life and the mentors that have helped me become a lot of who I am today, I recognize that some are family members and friends. Some are old coaches from the sports teams I played on as a kid. Some are people I have worked with and others are random people I have had the pleasure of getting to know. All of which are great individuals who genuinely care about my success, just as much as theirs. They have spent many hours refining my average talents and skills.

To these men and women, I will be forever grateful.

Remember, that this thing called life can actually be such an amazing process. But in my opinion, it can not be amazing without having many many great people in it that lift you up and teach you, and many others that you lift and teach. Life really is good when it is surrounded by great people that you love.

Yours truly,

Spending time with the ones I love, Cram
