TGI freaking F. Life is good on a Friday. As we continue to get into this book, you guys are going to come to realize that his most important goal in writing this book is to help us realize how much control we have of our thoughts, and therefore how much control we have on the outcome of our lives.

Of all the beautiful truths pertaining to the soul which have been restored and brought to light in this age, none is more gladdening or fruitful of divine promise and confidence than this- that man is the master of thought, the molder of character, and the maker and the shaper of condition, environment, and destiny.

Although this may seem as a very loaded quote, it actually is one that brings me great hope. Think about what he just said. We are literally the creators and the controllers of our destiny. We might not be able to control exactly what happens on a daily basis, because to be quite honest, some things are definitely out of our control. But, we absolutely control the overall outcome of our lives. In my opinion, God has placed us on an earth that can yield us the greatest amount of happiness, success, and freedom. But then he says, you have to go earn it.

I want you to sit there and think about the thoughts that consume your mind on a daily basis. Really sit there and think:

  • Are they thoughts of worry?
  • Are they thoughts of helping others?
  • Are they thoughts of growth?
  • Are they thoughts of revenge?
  • Are they thoughts that will grow and enrich your life?
  • Or are they thoughts that will destroy it?

“Man holds the key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills.” Man is always going to be the master, even in his weaker and most abandoned state. The end OUTCOME always flows through us.

“We can only become what we want to become by discovering what is within our walls of thought. This discovery is a matter of application, self-analysis, and experience.”

In other words, it is not easy to be in complete control of your thoughts. In fact, it takes a lot of concentrated effort. It takes much practice. You will want to quit quite often in this process because if it was easy, EVERYONE would be doing it. But the truth is, the concepts are simple. All it takes is discipline. What do you consume your mind with when you first wake up? Do you read a book, do your affirmations, and get in tune spiritually? Or does your day start with the TV on, kids yelling, and chaos? If I started my day at 8:00, that is exactly what it would look like, minus the TV. A gigantic reason why I wake up at 5:00 am is because at that hour, it is just between me and my studies. I have complete control of what comes in and out of my mind. And to be honest with you, it is one of the most important parts of my day.

But once again, doing early morning studies takes discipline. I battle myself EVERY SINGLE morning about getting up. But once I do, it is worth it every single time! Get up and start feeding yourself with thoughts that will help your day instead of hurt it.

Yours truly,

Nothing but thoughts of love, Cram
