Today’s reading starts by talking about how the more you complain about circumstances in your life, the longer the circumstances will happen. I want you to sit and think about that for a second. I know that everyone on this thread has things that he or she complain about constantly. I know that sometimes it feels good to get it off of your chest by complaining, and sometimes we even think that by complaining over and over about it, it will fix the process. However, this is not always the case. Now, I want you to think about something else for me; when was the last time you met a truly happy and successful person who sat around and complained a lot? I dare you find one, it does not happen. Those who are successful move on. Like we have talked about before, if someone cannot find the ideal circumstance he or she desires, they go make those ideal circumstances happen, not complain about them.
In order to overcome the habit of complaining, one must understand how. The key to overcome this habit is to flood your unconscious mind with as much of the real story, which you desire, as possible. In order to do this,
continue to write down goals, visualizes those goals,and start to behave in a way to achieve those goals as if they are already happening.
As you create goals you may be tempted to enter your comfort zone because of changes you are making to your life. Comfort zones work very similar to a thermostat in your house. When the thermostat is set to a specific temperature, the thermostat sends an electrical signal to the furnace to either turn it on or off, which will either heat or cool the room to the desired temperature.
Similarly, you have an internal thermostat that controls the way you perform in the world. Instead of using electric signals, your body uses discomfort signals. As your behavior begins to approach the edge of your comfort zone, you begin to feel uncomfortable. Your body will literally send feelings of discomfort to your mind when you are hitting that comfort zone line. To illustrate this, look at people who win the lottery. 80 percent of all lottery winners end up filing bankruptcy within the first five years. How is that possible? It is because they have lived in a comfort zone for so long, and now that they have money they feel out of place. They will do whatever is needed in order to get back to his or her comfort zone, which is being broke.
You can change your comfort zone by changing your behavior. By changing who you think you are, and by saying to yourself, over and over again, what you want to become. Literally visualize your new house, your new car, your new relationship, and your new life. Napoleon Hill will tell you time and time again that
we become what we think about
all day long. Stop freaking complaining and start creating. Stop worrying and start believing. I am not saying that there are not going to be tough times, which allow the right to complain, but push through it. Complain for a second, and move on! Life is too short not be living it the way that you desire. Do you want to find success? Do you want to find happiness? Believe you can find success, believe you can find happiness, and I can guarantee it will happen!
