It is Wednesday all day long today. We might as well own it, dominate it, and end up loving it! Today we continue to talk about our “Why”, and how much knowing it and living by it, changes our lives.
4. The more you layer your “Why”, the more impact it has on others- “Purpose is like a snowball rolling downhill- it builds over time. It compounds.” As we do the right thing, for the right reason, surrounded by the right people, there is no where for our lives to go but towards the path of success and happiness. The problem that we run into in today’s world is that so many people want an instant return on their efforts. Many even want to be recognized in advance for their efforts. That is not how life works. “You have to earn credibility.” Keep following your purpose, day by day, week by week, month by month, and year by year, and your impact with keep increasing. You might not be able to see that increase every day. But over time, you can guaran-ass-tee that you will see incredible growth in so many ways.
“You have to earn credibility.”
5. Knowing your why keeps you in the game longer- how many of you know people that are 50+ years old that wake up every morning with a hop in their step? I bet the numbers are limited. For the longest time I had a goal to retire young. But even when I “retire” from what I am doing today, the last thing I ever want to do is lose my desire to wake up in the morning, ready to take on the world. In other words, I will always have a purpose. I will always have something that I am fighting for. I will always have a passion to become a better version of myself, even if my daily schedule changes a little bit. Purpose= long-living. Why? Because having a purpose keeps us young. Purpose keeps us fulfilled. Purpose keeps us progressing. And life will not be happy if we don’t have progress.
I sat on a plane yesterday on my way to Washington and while the people sitting next to me were watching movies on their TV’s, I was listening to 10X, increasing my goals, and writing down the 10 different places I can sharpen the saw in my life. Now, I don’t tell you that to call out the people sitting next to me for being bad, unmotivated people. I am sure they are fantastic human beings. But what I do know is that because my why is so much stronger than a television show, I left that plane with a hop in my step, ready to take on the world. Know who you are, know where you are supposed to go, and fight like hell for it! Life is good when you fight for the right thing with the right people.
