Man, I tell you what, Monday, is such a great day to be alive. We continue to talk about mediocrity and the best ways to stay away from it. One of the things we preach on this blog, and every day at DishOne, is the importance of daily personal development.

Jim Rohn always talked about how our levels of success CANNOT exceed our levels of personal development.

Why? Because success is something we attract by who we become. We have a huge problem in the world and that is that most people don’t take time each day to invest in their personal development. We don’t take the time to really push to become the people we want to become and to achieve the success we want to have. As a result, we struggle to attain the levels of health, happiness, energy, love, personal and professional success that we really do desire.

A couple of the reasons why I believe that many don’t engage in self-development are because of the following:

  1. They Have a Past, Which They Are Not Necessarily Proud Of – Well guess what? If your passed sucked, so what. There is nothing that you can do about it. But what you can change is the present and the future. It is NEVER too late to make the right choice. And nothing will help you to forget the pains of the past faster than self-development.
  2. I Don’t Know What to Do – 15 minutes of spiritual study or writing down what you are thankful for. 15 minutes of writing down, visualizing, and saying your goals and affirmations in the mirror. 15 minutes of reading a self-development book. Start there.
  3. They Put Unimportant Things Before This Ever So Important Thing – no offense but there is simply nothing more important that you can be doing in the morning than taking the time to be a little better.

As I have said many of times before, the key to running away from mediocrity is to push to be better. If you will focus every day a little more to be a little better, there is no doubt in my mind that you will be happier. There is no doubt in my mind that you will get that promotion. There is no doubt in my mind that you will hit your goals. There is no doubt in my mind that you will have that relationship with your wife that you want. There is no doubt that you will succeed!

Yours truly,
